2021 Virtual Design-Build Day & Summer Internship Fair

The Weber State University Construction & Building Sciences Design-Build Day & Summer Internship Fair is an annual event where students connect with internship and job opportunities in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry and find future employment opportunities.  High School Juniors & Seniors in a UAEC Pathway,  Davis/Ogden-Weber/Bridgerland Technical College in a Certificate or Apprenticeship, Salt Lake Community College Associate level, and WSU Associate and Bachelor level students will be in attendance.

The event will take place Friday March 5, 2021 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM via Zoom.

Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. All UAEC Pathways; Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Woods, and Welding pathways will be represented.

Video contest encourages students and trainees to showcase their projects

Build Your Future (BYF) recently announced the 2020 winners of their I BUILT THIS! video contest. Designed to promote the value of craft skills and construction as an industry of choice, the annual I BUILT THIS! video contest encourages secondary and postsecondary students and trainees to showcase their building projects.

More than $20,000 in total prizes were awarded. Winning entrants and their programs received tools, swag, gift cards and more. The contest is part of BYF’s Careers In Construction Month (CICM), which happens annually in October. The purpose of CICM is to bring together students, apprentices and industry to spread awareness of the career opportunities in construction.
